There are plenty of tactical-looking blades on the market. The Tactical Ginunting is different. It starts with a proven Filipino blade design and builds it into a serious, modern field tool without losing what makes the Ginunting such an effective blade in the first place.

The Ginunting has a legitimate military heritage. The Ginunting Bolo is the official close-combat blade of the Philippine Marine Corps, and this modern version takes that heritage in a distinctly tactical direction.

This is an all-black Ginunting designed for people who may actually take their equipment into the field. The entire setup is designed around practicality.

The blade comes razor sharp, with approximately the last three inches of the back edge sharpened as well, following the traditional Ginunting pattern. That gives the blade a distinctive profile while retaining the characteristics that have made the Ginunting such an important Filipino fighting blade.

The handle is wrapped in paracord, giving you a secure, comfortable grip without adding unnecessary bulk. And if the situation ever calls for it, the paracord can be removed and put to use as emergency cordage.

The D-guard provides substantial hand protection and also gives the user another option when working at close quarters. The butt of the handle incorporates a solid striking pommel, making the rear of the weapon useful as well.

Then there is the sheath.

The Tactical Ginunting comes with a thick Kydex sheath built for hard use and wet environments. Water has a place to escape through the drain opening at the bottom rather than simply remaining trapped inside the sheath.

The mounting system is equally serious. The belt attachment is a heavy-duty, adjustable system that can be configured for vertical or horizontal carry, depending on how you want to set it up. It can also be adapted for belt, pack, chest, or other carry configurations.

The sheath is covered with mounting holes, giving you plenty of options for adding paracord or securing the sheath to a leg, pack, or other piece of equipment. You’re not locked into one carrying method.
